Health Care Reform Part III

The last couple days I been sharing some excerpts from an article by the Health Ranger, Mike Adams, on health care reform. We will continue with some more of this long article. It is well worth the read and food for your brain. Think on these things.

For more information on the Health Ranger, see his website at www.HealthRanger.org.

Real solutions to save our economy

In this segment -- what we can do to solve this problem and stave off this financial doom that seems to be approaching if we do not make some serious changes? I mean we have households going broke, 50% of all personal bankruptcies now are caused by medical costs.

We have states going broke because they cannot cover the pensions and the healthcare benefits that they promised to their retirees. We have corporations going broke. Did you know General Motors spends more on healthcare than it does on steel? Really! These healthcare costs are driving corporations off our shores. They are forcing them to go overseas just to stay in business and stay competitive.

Then we have a federal government that under the Bush Administration made such a lousy deal with the pharmaceutical companies that it actually made it illegal for the government to negotiate volume pricing with drug companies. How insane is that? Only under a system of greed and collusion and corruption could such an agreement ever have been reached between the federal government and the drug companies.

As you have learned -- if you have been listening to this show for very long or listening to the Alex Jones Show, or Jeff Rents which I recommend -- corporations run this government. Corporations run this country so it is really no surprise the government would act in the interests of corporations. However, I promised to talk about solutions.

There are solutions available. They are radical because we need some radical changes if we are going to make a difference and turn this thing around -- because things are so messed up. We need to take the profit out of disease. How are we going to do that? Here are my suggestions. Now, I am making these in all seriousness but I do not expect they will ever be adopted because they are not in the interest of the corporations and the power people that run this country.

These suggestions go against the status quo. They empower the people, not the corporations. They are suggestions that make common sense but they might not make corporate fiscal sense. They are suggestions that decentralize power. Take it out of Washington, D.C. and put it back into the hands of the people who live in this country and the doctors who practice medicine locally. It puts the power back into the hands of the citizens where it belongs.

That is where power is supposed to be in this country. That is what our founding fathers said and understood and tried to dictate in the Constitution. That is what they tried to do to create a system where the people are in power. Now the government and the corporations and the media have taken most of that power and they have left us in a state of chronic disease and bankruptcy. That is where they left us.

There will be more of Mike Adams' article next week, especially specific solutions that he brings up in the next couple segments of his article. Stay tuned ...

As with all Saturdays, I will recap several key financial indicators that really provide some insight in what is going on with the markets. Although the consolidation of the precious metals market continues, the prices are inching up higher. The exception is silver. Silver took a considerable step up closing the week at $18.29 per ounce from $17.52 last week. Gold inched up closing at $934.40 per ounce on the holiday shortened week. The price of oil hit a new weekly high of $144.10 per barrel, just before the holiday weekend of course. The US dollar index bucked the trend, actually rising slightly to close at 72.71. This index tracks the strength of the US dollar against all the major world currencies.

I will end with a few comments on Mike's article. Just like in the financial deceptions that are going on, the solutions to the health care crisis will be very different from the status quo. Some will not be prepared to accept them, but that does not the solutions are wrong. The deterioration of the health care system is so advanced, that only some radical actions can prevent the whole system from going totally bankrupted. Will we have the fortitude to try aggressive action to save this country? Will we have the strength of voice from the public to demand the changes? Time will tell. But people are getting tired of always being sick and tired. Why not try prevention for a change? Why not get healthy instead of treating symptoms?

As always, the choice is yours. Your health is at stake, and your health controls the quality of your life. Think on this and make the right choice.

This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place. Do not trust in deceptive words and say, "This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD!" If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever. But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless. Jeremiah 7:3-8 (NIV)
